The Wolverine is an upcoming American/Australian superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Wolverine and is intended to be the sixth installment in the X-Men film series. Hugh Jackman reprises his role from previous films as the title character, with James Mangold directing a screenplay written by Christopher McQuarrie, Scott Frank, and Mark Bomback, based on the 1982 limited series Wolverine by Chris Claremont andFrank Miller. McQuarrie was hired to write a screenplay for The Wolverine in August 2009. In October 2010, Darren Aronofsky was hired to direct the film. The project was delayed following Aronofsky’s departure and the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami in March 2011. In June 2011, Mangold was brought on board to replace Aronofsky and Bomback was hired to rewrite the screenplay in September 2011. The supporting characters were cast in July 2012 with principal photography beginning at the end of the month in New South Wales before moving to Tokyo in August 2012 and back to New South Wales in October 2012. The film was converted to 3D in post-production. The Wolverine is scheduled to be released on July 24, 2013, in various international markets, July 25, 2013, in Australia and on July 26, 2013, in the United States. Set sometime after X-Men: The Last Stand, Logan travels to Japan, where he engages a mysterious figure from his past in a fight that has lasting consequences. Vulnerable for the first time, and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel, but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than ever before.

Pacific Rim is an upcoming 2013 American science fiction film directed by Guillermo del Toro and written by del Toro and Travis Beacham. The film is set in a near future where soldiers piloting giant robots battle against invading giant monsters who have mysteriously risen from beneath the ocean. Del Toro has said the film will be “a beautiful poem to giant monsters”. The film was produced by Legendary Pictures and will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures The film will be released in 3-D and IMAX 3D on July 12, 2013. In the near future, giant monsters identified as “Kaiju” arise from a crevice in the Pacific Ocean, resulting in a war which takes millions of lives and quickly consumes humanity’s resources. To combat this new threat, a special type of weapon is designed: massive robots, known as Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. As time passes, even the powerful Jaegers prove almost defenseless in the face of a relentless enemy. On its last stand and on the verge of defeat, the remaining defending forces of mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to pilot a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the early trials of the mechanical titans. The supporting cast filled out in August 2012, with the hiring of Eccleston, Dennings and Akinnuoye-Agbaje. Principal photography began in September 2012 in Surrey, England with filming continuing in Iceland and London, before wrapping up in December 2012. Like the first film, Thor: The Dark World will be converted to 3D in post-production. Thor: The Dark World is scheduled to be released on November 8, 2013.

R.I.P.D. is an upcoming science fiction action-comedy film directed by Robert Schwentke, based on the comic book Rest In Peace Department byPeter M. Lenkov and published by Dark Horse Entertainment. The film will star Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges as Nick Walker and Roy Pulsipher, respectively. Filming for R.I.P.D. was completed on January 28, 2012, and was originally set to be released on June 28, 2013 in United States by Universal Pictures but was moved back to July 19, 2013. After a young cop is shot dead in the line of duty, he joins a team of undead police officers working for the Rest In Peace Department and tries to find the man who killed him.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 is an upcoming American 3D computer-animated comedy film produced by Sony Pictures Animation. The film is the sequel to the 2009 film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, which was loosely based on Judi and Ron Barrett’s book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. It is being directed by Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn, produced by Kirk Bodyfelt, and executive produced by the directors of the first film, Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Distributed by Columbia Pictures, the film is scheduled to be released on September 27, 2013. The screenplay was written by John Francis Daley, Jonathan Goldstein and Erica Rivinoja, and it is based on an original idea, and not on Pickles to Pittsburgh, Barrett’s follow-up book. Cloudy 2 will continue right after the first film, where a food making satellite gets out of control, but its creator, young inventor Flint, and his friends, eventually manage to stop it. In the sequel, Flint and his friends are forced to leave their home town, but when the food machine awakens, this time producing living food beasts, they must return to save the world. Most of the main cast will reprise their roles: Bill Hader as Flint Lockwood, Anna Faris as Sam Sparks, James Caan as Tim Lockwood, Andy Samberg as Brent McHale, Neil Patrick Harris as Steve, and Benjamin Bratt as Manny. After the disastrous food storm in the first film caused by his machine, Flint Lockwood and his friends are forced to leave the town of Swallow Falls. Upon arriving back at Swallow Falls, Flint discovers that his machine still operates and now creates mutant food beasts like living pickles, hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees and apple pie-thons. It is up to Flint and his friends to put a stop to the machine once and for all before this new form of foody life breaks free from the island and invades the world.

A brand-new Kickstarter has hit the net to raise funds for a forthcoming Street Fighter TV and online series.
The campaign comes from the people behind the Street Fighter: Legacy short, which became something of an online phenomenon when it hit the net in May 2010, receiving over 8m hits and prompting Capcom to grant makers the rights for a series.
The show will be entitled Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist, and Joey Ansah – best known for roles in The Bourne Ultimatum and Snow White and the Huntsman, and the creative force behind Legacy – will co-write and direct.
“I am a huge Street Fighter fan and have always dreamed of seeing a live-action film or series that does the game justice” Ansah explained. “Three years ago I took action and made part of that dream come true with Street Fighter: Legacy. Now other Street Fighter fans can help me achieve our ultimate dream.”
Two-thirds of the show’s budget has already been raised through traditional means, meaning that the filmmakers just need that final third to get them over the line. By pledging, fans will receive a range of rewards, from copies of the shooting script andlimited edition production books all the way up to costumes worn by the actors during filming.
“A lot of fans pledging small amounts of money can help green light projects that theHollywood studios may not back”, explained the show’s producer Jacqueline Quella. “The Street Fighter fans loved the short pilot we made, Street Fighter: Legacy, so we hope they’ll support our efforts to create something even more amazing.”
